I sure hope that all fathers enjoyed Father’s Day and managed to take in some R&R. Mike surprised Larry and met us for breakfast. We enjoyed a barbecue in the evening.

The last couple of days the weather has been cooler. It is supposed to warm up in the next week or so. Let us hope it does, as we are already in the middle of June.

We were saddened to hear of the passing of Esther Robinson (nee Hodgins). She was the beloved wife of the late Courtney Robinson. Esther and Courtney had moved to Pembroke, but had lived here in Waltham and raised a beautiful family. Esther was a retired nurse. She was a lovely person and always had a smile and was ready for a chat when you met her. Our heartfelt sympathy, thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends during this difficult time.

On Saturday, Larry and I took in the Village en Fête in Fort Coulonge. There were several kiosques, great entertainment and food concessions. Mother Nature co-operated and gave us a beautiful sunny day for this event.

Mark’s sister, Jennifer Farina has arrived from Riley North Carolina and is spending six weeks at her summer cottage. It will be nice to get together and spend some time with Jen.
