Congratulations to all the elected officials of the Pontiac and thank you to the candidates who gave the voters a choice. It was also nice to see so much political interest coming from the next generation.

Mayor Winston Sunstrum was also re-elected at Allumette Island with four new councillors, Mariette Sallafranque, Pat Montgomery and Nancy McGuire.
Congratulations also go out to Chrissy Payne, Dustin Denault and Cory Bissionnette who were elected for the vacant seats in Chichester.
I would also like to congratulate our neighbour Mayor Jim Gibson who was re-elected at Rapide des Joachims.
Birthday greetings go out to Carson Michaud who celebrated his birthday on Nov. 7.
Although the candidates of the Pontiac were busy campaigning, they still took time out to remember those who have served and those who continue to serve our country. A Remembrance Day service was held at St Joseph’s on Allumette Island on Thursday, and a large group, including Will Amos, attended the Remembrance Day ceremony in Sheenboro on Sunday.
A word of caution to all deer hunters, safety first.
