Our sympathy to the family and friends of Carmen Wickens who passed away last week at the age of 88.
Our sympathy also to the family and friends of Clara Lavigne who passed away last week.
The Shawville Fair is over for another year. The weather was good for the first two days but Sunday and Monday were rainy. We have not heard how the attendance was.

I still have not heard from the Hull Hospital about a new date for my surgery. Hopefully this week we will as I am finding it extremely difficult to walk.
Ladysmith is starting to prepare for Oktoberfest. The meatballs were made last week and frozen and around the middle of September they will be making two barrels of saurekraut.
The gardens are nearly finished growing now. My little garden in Rankin had some frost last week. My tomato plants in pots here at Johnson Lake are still good as we are the last to get frost here at the lake.
Happy birthday to Ryleigh Hodgins on Sept. 6, to Karl Erfle on Sept. 6 also, to Debbie Zimmerling on Sept. 5, to Mary Hodgins on Sept. 8, to Eldon Zimmerling on Sept. 10, to Beulah Stewart on Sept. 11 and to Margo (Draper) Boulay on Sept. 11.
Happy anniversary to Marlaine and Frank Palmer on Sept. 9, to Susan and Bill McCleary on Sept. 8 and to Tammie and Elroy Hodgins on Sept. 10.
There are more signs of fall with the cold nights and the birds flocking together. The trees are starting to turn colours and some leaves are falling.
The darts and cards continue in Otter Lake. Cards are Tuesday nights and darts are Thursday nights, both starting at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome.
