Ottawa Valley Boss Babes, a podcast that features female entrepreneurs in the Ottawa Valley, was at The Little Red Wagon Winery on June 25.

The event was a gathering of female business owners from . . .

across the region.

The podcast was launched in November of 2020.

“I wanted to create a new and innovative way to bring awareness to local women and business and entrepreneurs that were just making waves and surviving during the pandemic,” said Holly Molenaar, the founder and host of the Ottawa boss Babes and Ottawa Valley Women in Business Events.

“I’ve produced over 200 episodes now because I’ve started with Ottawa Valley Boss Babes and then I expanded to Boss Babe Corner which includes women, men and nonbinary folks because we want to be inclusive and diverse and the demand was there,” said Molenaar.

The event at The Little Red Wagon Winery was the groups first Pontiac event. Jennifer Judd, the owner of the winery, was the fourth guest from the Pontiac to be featured on the podcast.

“We’re back to concerts and live events and venues opening up again and so that was our theme this month, ‘’ said Molenaar. “Our tagline is to empower, connect and inspire other women. And so we want people to be able to have opportunities to network and to feel inspired through our keynote speakers.”

The event included many vendors including, Nathalie Bourque, owner of Authentik Wellness Ranch on L’Isle-Aux-Allumettes, which provides animal therapy and Holly Lalonde with Boho and Chill out of Charteris, who sells bath and body products.

“It’s really nice to see all these other female businesses,” said Lalonde. “We need the love. We’re always overlooked.”

The podcast is going strong with 30,000 downloads and Molenaar plans to keep expanding.

The podcast episode featuring Judd is titled Episode #85 – Red, White & Rose! with the Little Red Wagon Winery and can be found by searching for OV Boss Babes on podcast platforms like Apple or Spotify.
