Pulling weeds

Pulling weeds

The Equity

I was in the garden early this morning trying to get ahead of the weeds. Early is good, because the day is going to be hot. As I looked at my work I thought, now the plants are going to have a chance to thrive! And they were looking pretty healthy.

It got me thinking. When we walk in faith, some attitudes, like weeds, have to be pulled. Bad feelings toward someone who has treated us unfairly, guaranteed will put a crimp on our joy. The peace we once had, can slip away, unless every little injustice is given to the Lord. He promises to take care of the wrong. Our part? Give them up. We can rest in His promises and be thankful. Sometimes it’s not easy. The injustice has gone deep, like the large weeds I found. But don’t wait. Bring them quickly to the surface and pitch them out! It’s worth it!
