Passing time in winter

Passing time in winter

The Equity

Groundhog Day happened this week and sure enough the sun was shining. Six more weeks of winter. My cousin lives in New Brunswick and their little rodent is named Shubenacadie Sam. A Maritime groundhog.

It makes me laugh at what we seem to go through as Canadians to cope with winter. Some people are happy with winter sports but many of us stay inside and think about spring.

But in reality, every day is a gift. It is ours to enjoy no matter what happens. Life is a gift. Anyone who has just lost a loved one realizes that more clearly. When we wake up each morning, our best choice is to be thankful. No matter how much is wrong there is always something to be thankful for and the result will be joy. Joy doesn’t depend on circumstances but on God, whose love for us will sustain us through everything. Choose joy!
