It’s almost Christmas and I have begun to bake things I never bake any other time of the year. Why? I don’t know. Well, Christmas cookies yes, but why not make a tourtiere in say July? I just don’t. So finding recipes and remembering what I did extra that is not on the recipe card becomes a little problem I want to overcome. Why don’t I write everything down? That I don’t know either. I doubt I will change the way I do things though because change is hard.

But is it? Yes, in some areas. But not all. I have stopped doing things that result in making myself sick like eating too many chips at one sitting, or too much popcorn. But some changes, need far more power than I can muster. What about being judgmental? When someone is different it is so easy to find fault, and that does not build up. It tears down. God convicts us, and then, if we listen, He gives us insight and strength to live differently. Christmas seems to bring these thoughts out, once a year. Maybe it would be a good practice all year round.
