Dr. S.E. McDowell capped off this year’s three-day track and field competition for students in grades 3 to 6 with an award ceremony on June 5 to recognize all the students’ hard work and accomplishments.

The young athletes met in the school’s gymnasium, alongside some of their family members and teachers, to collect their hard-earned hardware.

First- through sixth-place ribbons were given out to top performers in the 11 different events offered by the school, which included various running distances, jumping events, and the one and only throwing event, the softball throw.

Awards were also given out to the top overall male and female athletes in each division: junior, intermediate and senior. Students Nora MacKechnie and Nate Richardson won the senior awards; Violet Mahon and Ryland Brown won the intermediate awards; and Neah Coughlin and Zeke Barber-Campeau won the
junior awards.
