Easter Bunny sends Pontiac kids on the hunt

A swarm of children carrying Easter egg baskets spread over the Bryson RA grounds in Sunday morning’s sun as they raced, some panicked, to collect as many of Easter eggs as possible in the RA’s annual hunt.

While the kids had previously been entertained by visiting with the various farm animals that were available for petting thanks to the Shawville 4-H club, for 15 minutes at 11 a.m. they were uniquely focused on finding and claiming the coloured plastic eggs that had been hidden in the snow.

And Bryson wasn’t the only town where Easter eggs were top of mind this weekend. Just a hop away, the Ladysmith Recreation Committee organized a similar event later Sunday afternoon, offering an egg hunt and cookie decorating to 21 keen kiddos.

And a day earlier in Danford Lake, the community hosted the third event in its year-long celebration of its 150th anniversary – an Easter breakfast and an egg hunt that sent a gaggle of children scrambling to collect hidden eggs in the Danford Lake Community Center.
