A crew of volunteers organized by the Norway Bay Municipal Association gathered at the community’s beach on Saturday to install new temporary docks, purchased by the municipality this spring.

The docks will replace those that usually attach to the pier but cannot be installed this year because the pier is closed for repairs.

“If anybody wants to jump in that river now, they’re more than welcome to,” said Ken Bernard, one of the volunteers, confirming the docks are now open to the public.

Bernard said the association may install buoys around the docks, but in the interim, reminds boaters that boats are not to be tied to the docks.
