Strength in weakness

Strength in weakness

The Equity

I planted Morning Glory seeds beside my deck thinking they could climb up and look very pretty in that spot. Sure enough most of them did. But as I was weeding, I noticed one vine was lying on the ground. It was long enough, so I took the vine and tried to wrap it around the spindles. It was limp and almost lifeless. Still I persisted and managed to wrap it around a few times. It stayed. All the other vines which had climbed were strong and producing flowers. I am hoping this one will too, eventually.

It got me thinking. When we encounter a hardship, we are faced with some decisions. What do I do next? It would be easy to stall out and do nothing or jump ahead before we know the best direction to take. At that moment we need to remember that God is very near. We may feel we don’t have the strength to face the trial but God does! Ask! Then wait. Answers will come and so will peace. Strength to persevere comes when we trust and then move, one step at a time.
