A two-car collision in downtown Shawville late Tuesday night sent one person to hospital with minor injuries.
At around 11:30 p.m., a white Mazda carrying two people ran the red light at rue Centre and rue Main, striking a dark Ford carrying a single occupant before hitting a utility pole head-on.
Local resident Jason Yereck said he heard the crash from his home up the street and ran down to investigate.

“It sounded like it was towards Main St., so I went out to look and sure enough we saw two cars mangled together,” he said.
Local firefighters were on-scene within minutes and the passenger of the Mazda was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
According to police, the driver of the Mazda was given a ticket for failing to stop at the red light.
