The Municipality of Alleyn-et-Cawood (Danford Lake) invited residents to travel back in time on Saturday, putting on a traditional English tea complete with lace doilies, tiered serving platters, and crustless sandwiches.

The event’s 150 or so attendees of all ages dressed the part, with many adorned in pearl necklaces, Ascot hats (think My Fair Lady), silk scarves and satin gloves.

The event was the latest in a series being organized throughout the year to celebrate the municipality’s 150th anniversary this year. The big anniversary party is happening Saturday, June 13 in the town’s Henry Heeney Memorial Park.
