The Equity has been covering the events of our communities for more than 140 years.
In recent years, the needs and news consumption habits of our audience have changed. As new generations are raised with the Internet baked into everyday life, they have migrated away from the traditional printed newspaper in favor of consuming news and events on their computers and smartphones. The common misconception is that people have stopped caring about news – but in fact, we have strong readership and engagement in both print and online!

Every week, 4,000 people read The Equity in print. More than 1,500 people subscribe to our bi-weekly newsletter, and nearly 500 people log into their online account at least once a month.
Print Audience
The Equity publishes a weekly newspaper every Wednesday, delivered to homes and available at corner stores throughout the Pontiac and Ottawa Valley. As a subscription-based publication, The Equity is welcomed into our readers’ homes each week and read from cover to cover.

Most of the content on TheEquity.ca is behind a paywall, requiring readers to register or subscribe for access. We have recently launched a free plan that allows non-subscribers limited access to our website in exchange for registering with an email address.
